CHEREHANI AFRICA INITIATIVE LAUNCH

It was all Fun and Glam at  the launch of Cherehani Africa, an initiative of The Bow-Tie Events , Angela Ola and other partners; seeking to elevate the lives of unskilled and impoverished women in the rural areas by providing them with sewing machines to enable them to start a career in tailoring and design.

The organisation is set to begin a tour to various parts of the country. The first stop is at Kwakonza Village in Kitui County. The launch was attended by models, fashion enthusiasts, fashion bloggers, fashion entrepreneurs and photographers. The dress code for the event was a touch of Kitenge or Ankara. Best Fashion/Beauty/Hair & Style Blog Award 2014 goes to This Is Ess

 THIS IS ESS CARRIED THE DAY AT THE BAKE AWARDS 2014




After weeks of voting and waiting; the sassy, intelligent and charming blogger Sharon Mundia was awarded the highly coveted Best Fashion Blogger 2014 title at the Bake Awards held on the 3rd of May 2014 at Intercontinental Hotel. Sharon has been applauded by all and sundry for maintaining gold standards, originality and creativity and therefore her big win did not come as a surprise. She garnered 2'335 votes with fashion blogger Nancie Mwai following at a distant with 669 votes. Nancie Mwai bagged this award last year.Fashion Caffe Latte congratulates Sharon Mundia on her big win.

NIGERIA TO HOST AFRICAN FASHION WEEK 2014


After three years of existence, Ronke Ademiluyi, CEO of Africa Fashion Week choses Nigeria to be the first country to host the spectacular event in Africa. AFW 2014 is scheduled to premier in Nigeria on the 17th and 18th of May 2014 at Hotel Intercontinental , Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event brings together seasoned and emerging designers,fashion entrepreneurs, fabric manufacturers, textile companies, printers, jewellers, fashion photographers, make -up artists,models and fashion enthusiasts from the whole of Africa and beyond.

African Fashion Week celebrates african culture through fashion by showcasing fashion designs with an african projection.The event also provides african designers with an international platform to showcase their work and promotes African prints and fabrics.

AFW was launched in London in 2011 and it features over 100 designers from UK and other countries in the world.
