An elegant affair it was indeed. One that can not go without mentioning ; however late. The event was organised by The Bow - Tie Events and was held at the Nairobi Railways Museum, making it the very first fashion show in Kenya so far to be done on the Railway.
The show which successfully pulled a gathering of fashion enthusiasts, fashion bloggers, fashion photographers, fashion designers, fashion entrepreneurs and models was very exciting to watch. The trains on site that acted more like props and the railway runway made for a vintage environment. One could clearly envision the Victorian elegance by just looking at the surrounding.
The main objective of the fashion show was to expose upcoming designers to the fashion community and the market at large. We also had upcoming models strutting the runway for the very first time. The event was also done in support of Cherehani Africa Initiative, a social enterprise that seeks to empower women from less privileged backgrounds by providing them with sewing machines and equipping them with tailoring skills.
The designs that walked the runway were impressive to say the least. Lucky Fatma, Edna Ipalei, Margaret John, James Muthui, Cindy Wanjiku and Winfred Waceke are some of the designers that showcased at the event. The Models were stylishly accessorized by Becksville Trends . Mohamed Bana of BANA the brand closed the show on a high note with his exquisite designs.
What we experienced at Nairobi Elegance Affair can be summed up in these two words; Unforgettable and Phenomenal. The future of the fashion industry in Kenya looks bright. Take a peek at what went down at the event.
